Author Visit & PTA Meeting on April 14
Our next PTA meeting will be April 14th at 6:30pm – right after our Author Visit with Tracey Kyle. At this meeting, we’ll be discussing our progress with the Read-A-Thon, end of year events, and our upcoming PTA election. We hope you can join us on the "Forestdale Schoolwide Events" (not "Forestdale Parent Events") BBCU link.
We are still in need of folks to take on our PTA board positions for next year and continue the work of our PTA. If you would like to serve the Forestdale community by serving on the PTA board next year, please use this Google form or email jfmccarl@fcps.edu. If you have any questions about the PTA or these board positions, you can contact any current member of the board or email jfmccarl@fcps.edu.
Read-A-Thon Updates
Thank you to all the families who have gotten involved with the Read-A-Thon this week and have been raising money for our school as well as reading each day!
Students are earning prizes for activating their accounts, sending emails, raising money, and meeting reading goals. Prizes will be handed out to in-person students at school throughout each week and virtual students’ families will be contacted about picking up prizes.
We also want to recognize and give prizes to our students who read the most minutes and raise the most money. Here is what your child can win!
It’s not too late to join the fun of the Read-A-Thon. If you haven’t already, activate your reader’s account today by going to https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/AQccYK and following the simple instructions.
Do you want to send in a donation and log your minutes but not create a Read-A-Thon account? No problem! Just drop off your donation (cash or check made out to Forestdale PTA) at the school and we’ll make sure your child gets the credit. You can also log your child’s minutes on a paper and turn that in at the end of the Read-A-Thon to get the prizes.
Contact the PTA at forestdaleptatreasurer@gmail.com with any questions about the Read-A-Thon. Happy Reading!!
