Eaglegram

Work in Progress completion bar

Like you, we are very excited about the updated CDC guidance that will allow us to offer four days of in-person instruction to more students. The leadership and administrative team have been hard at work determining classroom capacity and staffing, and making logistical arrangements in order to bring this option to as many of our students students as is possible. We have begun contacting parents from certain classes, but please note that it will take several more days for us to complete this process for all classes and grade levels. There is no cause for alarm, and no need to contact the school at this time, if you have not yet heard from us. We thank you for your patience as we work through this process together!

April Is Month of the Military Child; Purple Up Day Is April 21

Month of the Military Child. Virginia Department of Education.

Military-connected youth face unique circumstances living the military lifestyle. By understanding the lifestyle of military-connected youth we can better meet their needs as they transition with their family members who serve our nation. Currently over 14,000 military-connected youth call FCPS home. Each year, our nation designates April as the Month of the Military Child to recognize and thank children from military families for the sacrifices they make living the military lifestyle. April 21 is Purple Up! day. All are encouraged to wear purple in recognition of the strength and sacrifices of military-connected youth.

Technology Reminder

An image of a laptop

This is a quick reminder that students should "restart" school-issued laptops once a week. This is not just "shutting down" after school ends and starting the next morning but instead selecting restart and having the laptop reboot.  This allows the laptop to perform updates. Many technical issues can be resolved through a "restart" rather than a "shut down."
