Welcome to Brookfield!
April
Picture Day for Virtual Students
Are you a virtual student at Brookfield Elementary? April 15 is Spring Picture Day for our virtual students. Use the signup Genius link to sign up for a time to bring your student to Brookfield.
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050C4BAEAE2FA3FE3-111453
If your child attends in-person, you do not need an appointment. In person photos will be on April 14th (for Tuesday/Wednesday students) and April 16th (for Thursday/Friday students). There will be no photo re-takes this year.
Keep Your Student Laptop Safe
We ask that our students please take care of their FCPS issued laptops. We have seen an increased number of damaged laptops.
Help your child remember to:
- Keep them stored in a safe place
- Keep snacks and drinks away from the computer
- Be gentle when inserting and removing the headphones
- Restart/reboot daily!
Some students have told us that they have lost their charger at day-care. Please contact day-care to see if they can help you find it.
If it can not be found, please email your child's teacher about a replacement. Costs are listed below.
May the (Calming) Force Be With You on April 26 at 3 pm!
Have you ever found yourself feeling so upset that nothing seems to help you to calm down? Have you cared for someone else who was having a hard time calming down? Do you just want to have a cool, fun glitter calming jar?
We ALL need help staying calm! Come and spend time with members of the Brookfield family to learn the ways of the (calming) Force and make a calming glitter jar with us!
Please join us in our virtual “Family Room” at this link: https://brookfield.link/family on MONDAY, APRIL 26 at 3 pm.
Supplies needed:
-
16 oz mason jar OR clear plastic water bottle
-
½ cup glitter glue OR clear glue
-
Distilled water (unlike tap water, distilled water has no minerals and stays mold-free)
-
Hot glue gun (optional, to glue the top on the jar/bottle)
-
1 - 2 teaspoons glitter (optional)

In-person Learners Get Books While at School
If you have come back to learn inside the building at Brookfield, you won’t need to come to Curbside Pickup anymore! Mrs. Fisher will deliver your library books to your classroom. Children won’t be coming into the library to choose books, though. So, Grades 3 – 6, keep putting the books you want on hold.
All students (virtual and in-person) who have library books may periodically receive an email about overdue books. Please return these books to the bin at the front door of the school.
