SOL Testing Delivery Options

Important SOL Testing Delivery Options

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Across Virginia, students will be taking Standards of Learning (SOL) tests this spring. Given the challenges brought on by the pandemic, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is allowing students/families to refuse SOL testing (at no penalty to the student) for this year.

The Right to Refuse Assessment webpage offers information and considerations for making this decision.

Silverbrook SOL Testing Information:

For 100% Virtual Students – All SOL tests must be taken in-person at school.  SOL tests are not available for remote delivery from home.  A testing appointment will be scheduled for all virtual students coming in for SOL assessments during the dates listed in the Silverbrook SOL calendar. If you chose to refuse the SOL for your virtual student, you will have the opportunity for them to complete an alternative, non-SOL test at home.

For Hybrid Students - All SOL tests will be taken in-person at school on the dates shown below.
