Across Virginia, students will be taking SOL tests in-person this spring. Federal and state education departments have decided that SOL assessments will proceed as usual for reading, mathematics, and science. More information is available about SOL assessments at each grade level. For students attending school 100% virtually, school staff will work with families to schedule an appointment for in-person SOL testing.
Caregivers have the right to refuse SOL assessments if they have concerns about participation related to the pandemic, including health, social-emotional, and instructional time concerns. For questions about SOL testing or to refuse testing, please contact your child’s teacher or the school at 703-799-2000. A remote non-SOL test option is in development, and information will be provided for families of qualifying students in the coming weeks.

Lego WeDO And Scratch Club
The STE(+a)M Lab at Woodley Hills proudly presents The Lego WeDo and Computer Coding Club, for our budding engineers. Lego WeDo is a robotics toolset, which provides a platform for primary level students to engage in Computer Coding by providing them with the opportunity build robots that connect to the real world. The WeDo kit, in conjunction with the programming software Scratch, provides endless opportunities for budding inventors, robotics fanatics, and LEGO builders’ ages 7 and older, to build and program robots. Junior Engineers create a program with easy-to-use software; the only thing limiting them is their imagination!
