March 26 Deadline to Change Learning Status

We continue to receive requests to change students from in-person to virtual and virtual to in-person. Requests will be reviewed based on classroom capacity for social distancing. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to implement the mitigating measures that support the return to school process. Change requests will no longer be accepted after March 26, 2021

Supply Distribution for Online Students

On Friday, March 26 from 1:45 – 3:45 we will be offering a drive-through supply pickup.  Just pull up to Door 2 of the school and all virtual students will receive a bag of student supplies along with any reserved library books. Students who attend school in-person have already been given these supplies.  Additionally, we will be exchanging laptops for students in grades 1-4 who were notified by teachers they need an upgrade.

We look forward to seeing you there.

Meal Distribution During Spring Break

FCPS is committed to providing all students access to meals March 26 through April 5 when there is one early release school day, the week of spring break when schools are closed, and one teacher workday when students are not in school. Extra meal distribution begins March 22. See the food distribution web page for more information.

Additionally, the United States Department of Agriculture announced this week that no-cost breakfast and lunch meals for all students have been extended through September 30.

We will be hosting a virtual orientation for families on Monday, April 12 from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. During this time you will be able to meet members of our staff and learn a little bit about how you can prepare your child for kindergarten.

Please help us get the word out.

School Picture Day Retake

We will be having Picture Day Retakes on Monday, April 12 from 9:00-2:00 p.m., This year the process will be different, pictures will be taken by family instead of by class. Pictures will be taken in the Cafeteria at your scheduled time. One parent and student(s) will enter through door #2 (cafeteria door). Families will have to fill out the visitor form before entering the building, we will have a QR code at the door that you can scan with your mobile device camera and complete onsite. Safety protocols must be followed before entering the building. Everyone present MUST always wear a face covering. Student(s) and parent will arrive with masks on and the students should be camera ready (jackets already removed, etc.) When it is their turn, students will step into the picture taking area and will remove their mask and hold it in their hand until their photo is finished. Parents are NOT allowed in the picture taking area. (Hands will not show in the finished image.) After the picture is taken, the student is instructed to place the mask back on and then exit through the designated door.
