Spring is here at the Academy!

Fairfax Academy Families,

We understand that there are a lot of changes happening quickly and a lot of new information being released. For any student wishing to change their intent to either in-person or virtual, we need a final decision by March 26. We ask that a parent contact us directly by either calling or emailing us at the Academy. If your transportation needs have changed, please contact us as well so we can finalize our transportation lists.

We understand for those students who are in person, the updated guidance from CDC might spark an inquiry as to whether we will be expanding the number of days students may attend. As guidance is updated from FCPS’s senior leadership, we will make sure to implement and share as soon as we can.

For students who are signed up to attend in-person, you may start seeing two new codes in SIS: SYC and SYV. These are used to notate that an in-person attended their class virtually on one of their assigned days. We ask that parents still contact us if their student plans to attend class virtually on an in-person day to avoid the SYV call outs.

I am excited to announce a brand new scholarship for seniors attending a college or university for music. Fairfax Academy and Spotlight on the Arts have partnered with ARTSFAIRFAX to offer this $1000 scholarship. Please see application information below.

Fairfax Academy has a number of events planned in April and May. First up is our inaugural performing arts and communications Career Fair that will be held on April 12. See details below. Contact our Career Experience Specialist, Ms. Molek (ekmolek@fcps.edu), with any questions.

We wish you a wonderful week and a restful Spring Break!
