Principal Message

Dear Marshall Road Families,

We are so excited to welcome more students back into the school building this week.  Here are a few reminders.

Arrival/Dismissal: There are 3 ways that children may come to school: bus, walk to door  #3 or door #7, or Kiss n’ Ride.  If your child is a walker and you would like to drive them to school for any reason, you must drop them off via Kiss n’ Ride.  There are no locations at MRES where parents may park and walk their children.

Reminders for students who are returning to in person learning: Please bring a water bottle, 1 to 2 masks, and pack a tree nut/peanut free snack each day.  Grab and go breakfasts and lunches are available and free to all students.  If you would rather pack your student’s lunch, please make sure it is tree nut/peanut free. The daily menu can be found here

Parents of virtual students: Thank you for your patience as we transition more and more students into the building!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Heiges

Principal

FLE- Human Growth and Development Lessons

The Human Growth and Development portions of the FCPS Family Life Education program will be shared with students in grades 4-6 who have not been opted out.

The schedule is as follows:

  •  4th grade - Wednesday 2:30-3:15 pm
  •  5th grade - Tuesday and Wednesday 2:45-3:45 pm
  •  6th grade - Tuesday and Wednesday 1:45-2:45 pm

Lessons are delivered in separate gender groups and students will be directed to the correct link each day.  Students at each grade level who have opted out of these lessons will have a separate health lesson delivered by counselors or teachers during this same block of time.  If you decide that you would prefer to opt out your student, please email our assistant principal, Mr. Chapman, at mfchapman@fcps.edu.

Asynchronous Days

Students in grades 3-6 will have asynchronous days on March 11-12 to give teachers an opportunity to plan for the new technology and concurrent teaching.  After morning meeting and attendance, students will transition to their asynchronous work.

Picture Make-Up Days

Students who missed the first picture day will have the opportunity to do so on March 24-25.  In person students will have their pictures taken during the school day.  Please email your child’s teacher if you want your child to be photographed.  Parents of virtual students may sign up here for an appointment to have your child photographed. Ordering information can be found here and more details can be found in this flyer.
