School Board Student Advisory Council (SAC)

Each year, in accordance with FCPS Policy 1802, FCPS students have the opportunity to apply for the position of the student representative to the School Board.  The student representative is not a member of the School Board but serves in a nonvoting, advisory capacity, representing the interests of the students of Fairfax County Public Schools.  Students who are currently in grades 9, 10, and 11 are eligible to apply and they do not need to be current members of the Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SAC).  Applications are due April 7, 2021.  The application and related details can be found at https://www.fcps.edu/blog/application-2021-student-representative-school-board.  


Virtual Career Exploration Fair (HS)

A county-wide Virtual Career Exploration Fair is being planned for students, parents, and staff, from April 19-30.  High school students will be able to connect with over 100 local industry professionals from in-demand career fields. Additionally, students can attend college and career ready workshops and information sessions.

The event's virtual format allows students to take advantage of sessions and workshops during asynchronous Mondays and evenings.

Pi Day (3/10)– Free STEM Virtual Event on Self-Driving Cars (MS, HS)

Ford, Argo AI, and STEM for HER will conduct a free virtual event on March 10 about self-driving cars in D.C. and the careers that make them work. An Additional College Access Fairfax Offering in April 2021 (HS)

Due to high demand, College Access Fairfax (CAF) is offering an additional Paying for College (9th – 11th grade) virtual presentation on Wednesday April 13, 2021 at 7:00 PM. This presentation will be offered in both English and Spanish simultaneously. A flyer with additional details is linked below.
