Welcome Back to our In-Person first and second graders on Tuesday and on Thursday this week.
Health Commitment Form: If your child is coming back into the building, you must complete the one time commitment form. If you login to your Parent Vue Account, the Health Commitment Form will pop up for you to read and sign. This is a one-time form you need to complete, prior to your child beginning in-person instruction.
Opting-Out of Vision/Hearing Screening: All kindergarten and third graders get hearing and vision screening at school. This year, students who are 100% virtual can opt-out of that screening or choose to come in-person for a screening. Look for a separate email with more information.
Parent Info. Meeting on Monday, March 8th at 6:30 for parents of students in grades 3-6 who are coming back in person. Zoom link sent Friday. Email Maureen Boland at mboland@fcps.edu if you need the link.
Asynchronous Classes on Thursday/Friday for 3rd-6th: FCPS has designated the 11th and 12th as preparation days for 3rd - 6th grade teachers. These days will be asynchronous this week.

Read Across America GooseChase
Do you love games and reading? Check out Rolling Valley’s 2021 Read Across America Challenge scavenger hunt on the free GooseChase app to complete awesome reading missions! Play individually or with your whole family (just one player profile per family please). How many points can you earn? Can you complete all of the missions and become a champion?
Participants can join the game by following these simple steps:
- Download the FREE GooseChase iOS or Android app.
- Choose to play as a guest, or register for a personal account with a username and password.
- Search for and select the Rolling Valley’s 2021 Read Across America Challenge game, or search by game code 8ZPWD6
- Follow the prompts to select or create your player profile.
You will have 1 week to complete as many tasks as possible! The game ends on March 8th. Have fun celebrating Read Across America week!!
THE BOOK FAIR IS HERE, AGAIN! To celebrate Read Across America Week, the Bookworm Central book fair has reopened! You can shop for books, anytime, without leaving the comfort of your home! You can even share the link with friends and family to purchase books no matter where they are! The fair will run from Monday March 1-Monday March 8. You are able to purchase books, games, etc. and have them shipped directly to your house. Free shipping on orders $30+. You also have a chance to purchase books for your teacher’s classroom to be shipped directly to school or donate to our book drive to purchase books for Rolling Valley students. Mrs. Reynolds will be hosting book clubs on Monday, March 8th. The sessions are available on the Library Schoology Course! No outside work is required, just sign in and enjoy a good book!

SEPTA (Special Education PTA) NEWS:
2020-2021 SEPTA Award Nominations open SUNDAY! SEPTA believes in the importance of recognizing the outstanding FCPS teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, specialists, students, and schools that go above and beyond to support students with disabilities - and this is even more important this year with all our school teams have done to adjust to the challenges of remote learning! Show your children's educators some love by nominating them for an award!
