Terra Centre Families,
We had another great week with our in-person kindergarteners, select students in grades K-6, and preschoolers all in the building! We appreciate our families supporting students at home through our concurrent model as our teachers and students acclimate to the class routines.
We are excited to welcome back our in-person 1st and 2nd graders next Tuesday! Parents of 1st and 2nd graders who are returning in-person will be receiving additional communication regarding arrival, dismissal, and other logistics. In the meantime, students can continue to practice logging in independently and wearing their masks for longer periods of time.

Playground, School Grounds, and Fields Closed
With the return of our students, Terra Centre reminds families that our playground and fields will no longer be available for use during school hours Tuesday - Friday. Thank you for taking screen breaks in other locations, leaving our fields and grounds available for our students attending school in-person and allowing us to maximize our social distancing protocols!

TCES Phase-In Plan
Below is a detailed calendar with important return to school dates and information for the phase in over the next couple weeks.
Bell Schedule
9:00 – 3:30 for All K-6 Students
9:00 – 3:30 for PAC Students
9:00 – 12:15 for Morning Early Childhood Class-Based Preschool
12:15 – 3:30 for Afternoon Early Childhood Class-Based Preschool
Teacher Planning, Classroom Set-Up, and Preparation for Return to School
The following dates will be teacher workdays and independent learning days for students to give our teachers time to prepare, set up their classrooms, and plan for concurrent instruction.

Health Screening Commitment Form Required Prior to Student Returning In-Person
As many students return to in-person instruction, parents and caregivers will be asked to acknowledge a Health Screening Commitment form before their student(s) re-enter school buildings. This document confirms that a parent, caregiver, or guardian will complete a daily health screening and will keep their child/children home when they are ill.
The Health Commitment form can be submitted electronically through ParentVUE (PVUE) or you can fill out a hard copy Health Commitment Form, then scan and email it to dmcunningham@fcps.edu. If you need assistance, please contact the front office at 703-249-1400.

Requests for Changes
Virtual to In-Person
At this time, we have created a waiting list for students who want to return in person. Any requests for a student to change from virtual instruction to in-person instruction will be placed on the waitlist. We will review requests regularly and a decision will be made based on space and availability, according to social distancing guidelines and room capacity. Please keep in mind that in order to accommodate a request to change from virtual to in-person your child may be placed with a different teacher. If you would like to be placed on the wait list, please contact Dee Cunningham at dmcunningham@fcps.edu or by phone at 703-249-1400.
In-Person to Virtual

Terra Centre 7-Day Meal Kits
Wednesdays 10:00 – 12:30 in Kiss & Ride
Terra Centre offers Fairfax Meal Kits, containing seven (7) days of breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and supper items packed in bulk.
Now that students are returning to school, meal kits will be available for pick up every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Kiss & Ride lane at Terra Centre.
All meals are available at no-cost to FCPS students and children eighteen (18) years of age and under. Parents/caregivers may pick up for children and adults may purchase kits for $28.00.
