Girls on the Run registration is now open. WFES will be hosting a virtual team and the program will begin the week of March 15. **2020/2021 WFES Pandemic Cookbook: Share your favorite recipe with the school and get inspiration in return!**
The PTA is excited to share a fun way to remember this crazy year—with a cookbook created with recipes submitted by you and our community! Many moons ago, WFES created a cookbook with recipes from families, staff and teachers. Few of these gems remain, so we decided it was time to make a new one, especially now when so many of us are cooking from home. Please spread the word! Submit your tried, true and favorite recipes via this google form by March 31st. If your recipe falls into a specific/special category (e.g. Whole30, Instant Pot, gluten free, etc), please make note of it.
We anticipate the cookbooks will be available for sale in May. (for approx. cost of $11-$15 depending on the number of recipes received). Profits from the sale will benefit the PTA. If you know any business that would like to advertise in the cookbook, please reach out to Caron Atiyeh.
Spring Spirit Wear Now Available
The Spring Spirit Wear sale is going on now until March 31st. Head over to the PTA online store to see the great selection of WFES merchandise. This year brings a completely new collection with exciting, updated designs and new products. Show your wolf pride and gear up for the warmer weather with a variety of short-sleeve items and zip-up/pullover layering pieces. There is so much to choose from! All apparel is available in both youth and adult sizes.
Items from the Spring sale are printed to order and are FINAL SALE. Orders will be available for pickup by the middle of April. Please contact Melissa Fabrizio if you have any questions. All sales benefit our school - thank you for your support!
The PTA Board Needs You!
Have you ever wanted to serve on the PTA board?? Well, the wait is over! The WFES PTA is currently looking for people interested in the following positions for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 school years. These are 2 year positions with the exception of president elect. Please contact Caron Atiyeh if you are interested or have any questions!
President-Elect (SY 2021-22, transitioning to President in SY 2022-23): act as aide to the President, perform duties assigned by the President, perform duties of the President in the absence or inability of that officer to act, stay up to date on correspondence of the President, understand that by accepting the nomination of President-Elect, they agree to automatically transition to the office of President at the end of their term as President-Elect.
Secretary SY 21-22 and SY 22-23– manage all PTA Board communications, prepare the monthly PTA meeting agendas, record meeting minutes and handle all PTA correspondence; attend monthly PTA Board meetings.
Treasurer –SY 21-22 and SY 22-23--prepare and maintains the PTA annual Budget and monthly reports, manage bank accounts, accounts receivable and payable; prepare an annual financial report and audit; attend monthly PTA Board meetings; work with accountant on tax filings.
VP of Fundraising –SY 21-22 and SY 22-23--oversee and support fundraising program chairs; help coordinate all the exciting PTA fundraising efforts to benefit our children and school when needed; attend monthly PTA Board meetings.
VP of Academics –SY 21-22 and SY 22-23--coordinate the academic-based activities for the PTA; oversee and support the academic program chairs for: Odyssey of the Mind, Reflections, Spelling Bee and S.T.E.A.M.; attend monthly PTA Board meetings.
**All positions require officially joining the PTA for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 school years**

Got Sneakers? Consider Donating Them!
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! Donations are ongoing through early spring!
Do you have old sneakers or athletic shoes sitting around your house? WFES will be collecting gently used and new sneaker and athletic shoes in ALL sizes through March. (Only athletic footwear is accepted-- Please DO NOT donate non-athletic footwear such as boots, heels, sandals, and dress shoes of any kind.) WFES will then be donating them to GotSneakers, a sneaker recycling organization that recycles and reuses them. This in turn helps to reduce the global impact of sneakers that end up in landfills and also helps the 600 million people throughout the world that do not own a pair of shoes. There are boxes located at the following locations for drop-off:
