Last week we had a fantastic first week back in the building. It was so great to see more of our students in-person. We are so proud of how quickly our Early Childhood and Kindergarten students learned the routines and moved forward with their learning.
We know that this year will continue to hold challenges for us as we move forward, but this week was a clear indicator that we are moving in the right direction!
At Pine Spring, we have worked very hard to meet families' requests to change their placement selection. At this point, we are no longer able to accommodate any further changes. However, if you have a desire to change your selection, please email me at neyacubovich@fcp.edu. Your requests will be recorded on a waitlist in the event that we are able to make changes in the future.
All FCPS schools began their new bell schedule for both in-person and virtual learning on February 16th. For your convenience, we have added each teacher’s new schedule onto the Pine Spring website under our Return to School tab. Please note the bell schedule is as follows:

We understand that the return to school is causing a great deal of excitement for some and anxiety for others. While we will need to constantly review and adjust our practices based on current information, we want to provide you with updated information on a regular basis. We have created information sessions that will provide you an overview and allow for questions and suggestions. We will offer the same information at each session, to allow you to find a time that fits your schedule. To ensure the most effective use of your time, we are asking that you submit your questions in advance here.
See the meetings information below:
If you would like to listen to last week's meeting, please click here for the recording.
We have adjusted our dates for transitioning students to their new teachers based on both parent and staff input. This change will allow the in-person students an opportunity to get to know the teacher before returning to the building. You will also notice that we have built-in orientations for each grade level. This will be a brief opportunity to meet the teacher and learn about their routines, procedures, and expectations. This will not be a full Back to School Night presentation, as the curriculum that is being covered remains the same as the curriculum we introduced at the beginning of the year. You will access this event by signing into your child's Google Classroom and clicking on the Google Meet link as if they were signing into class for the day.

We are always looking for ways to share how much we appreciate and support all of the hard work our staff is putting into this year. If you have seen one of our teachers or other staff members doing something above and beyond please consider sharing through our PAWS form. Your feedback will enter them into a weekly opportunity for a gift card, thanks to a donation from our PTA.
Pine Spring has been fortunate enough to receive a donation of girls clothes, and we would love to get them out to our community in a safe way. For us to do that, we need your help. We are asking for clothing hanger donations. We will use the hangers to safely space out the clothes so parents can select items that will fit their child. If you have hangers you are willing to donate, please drop them off in the box outside of Door 1 during our normal school day hours.
