Bell Schedule Change Prior Written Notice for Parents/Guardians of Students with Disabilities

The Principal or designee shall send all parents/guardians of students with disabilities the Bell Schedule Change Prior Written Notice (PWN) informing families of the potential change in special education and related services as a result of the division-wide bell schedule adjustment. This PWN ensures that families are appropriately notified of the change and their child’s protections under the Virginia Procedural Safeguards without having to complete an individualized education program (IEP) amendment.

The Bell Schedule Change Prior Written Notice (PWN) can be accessed HERE.

Cedar Lane is awarded an anonymous grant

Cedar Lane PTSA is thrilled to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from an organization that wishes to remain anonymous.

Cedar Lane Mini Grants

This funding will support Cedar Lane students and families in the following three areas:

  1. Mini-grants for basic necessities such as groceries, utilities, internet, rent payment, and other emergency needs;

  1. Facilitate distance and concurrent learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and eventual return to school through the purchase of supplemental IT equipment to enable Cedar Lane teachers and staff to meet our students’ needs in the distance and concurrent learning environment; and

  1. Empower our students and families to plan and be ready for educational and employment opportunities after Cedar Lane.

Following up on our previous message, we would like to share that the PTSA Board issued mini-grants to 17 recipients for emergency needs.

Unfortunately, due to budget limitations, we are no longer accepting applications for mini grants.

We are excited about the impact this grant will have on our Cedar Lane community and look forward to receiving your mini-grant applications, and sharing plans on Elements 2 and 3 shortly.
