Hughes MS Updates

Principal's Message

Parents and Guardians,

Thank you for allowing the staff to get in and settled in our classrooms this week.  We will be ready to greet our 8th graders on March 2nd and 4th, and our 7th graders on March 9th and 11th.  Friday, March 5th will be a two-hour early closing for Staff Development.  In Person 8th graders with last names L-Z will come to school that day.  Buses will take them home at 12:00.  They will have grab and go lunch that day as well.  Breakfast service will start on March 16th for those who would like it.  Breakfast and lunch are free to all students this year.

If you will be dropping students off and picking students up the Kiss and Ride is on Ridge Heights.  Please follow traffic signs and the direction of Matt Domas, the Security Assistant, who will be out front guiding traffic.

We are excited for this historic opening, not only after a year of Distance Learning, but also into many new classrooms thanks to our renovation.  The spring already has an air of hope and encouragement in the coming together of the community.  We want you to feel a part of the great things happening at Langston Hughes whether your student is returning or remaining virtual.  We are one Langston!
