Kiss N Ride Registration for 2020-2021
We will continue to utilize our Kiss N Ride drop-off and pick-up system this school year. Our goal is for students to arrive and dismiss quickly and safely. If your family plans to use Kiss N Ride this year, even if it’s infrequently, we ask that you complete a digital form. Upon completion of the form, families will be provided a Kiss N Ride number to display in cars at dismissal. Due to changes in safety protocols, we will not permit students into the building prior to 9:30 a.m., the time of the first bell. As such, we won’t begin our Kiss N Ride until 9:30 a.m.
We have over 60 families who signed up for their K&R number. Our goal is to have each family with an in-person student signed up before their first day of school. Be on the lookout for further information coming soon. In the meantime, please use the "form" link above to register.
Custodian Appreciation Week
A big THANK YOU to our wonderful custodians! They work hard each and every day to keep our school clean and safe for our staff and students.
TODAY, February 25, GBW will host a virtual parent preview night from 4:45-5:30pm. The session will feature a general overview of the Family Life Education curriculum that will be taught in early March. We’ll also provide guidance on how parents can access each of the lessons via SIS ParentVue or 24/7 Blackboard. Families may choose to opt-out of some/all lessons.

National Museum of African American History and Culture Virtual Exhibits

We are very excited to have some of our students back in school and look forward to many more returning in the upcoming weeks. With students now returning to in-person instruction, we want to remind our community that playground/field use during school hours is prohibited. We thank everyone for their cooperation.
FREE Fairfax Meal Kits are available for pickup every Wednesday at GBW from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or until they run out.
Meal kits are available to ALL FCPS students and children 18 years of age and under at no cost. Each meal kit contains breakfast, lunch, snack and supper for one person. Parents and caregivers may pick up one meal kit for each child. Adults may purchase meal kits for $28.
Instructions on how to store the food and prepare it are provided with the kit.
Location for pickup is at Door 8, located by the side parking lot.
Free and Reduced Meal Applications
Free and reduced-price meal eligibility carried over from SY 19-20. Even though meals are no-cost this year to all students, eligibility may be tied to other benefits such as the recent P-EBT. FNS is accepting 2020-2021 applications online here: https://www.myschoolapps.com and paper applications by mail. Positivity Project (P2) has an online parent component called P2 for Families 1-1-3. There is 1 quote, 1 video, and 3 questions to help you and your children discuss the character trait of the week. GBW Bingo & MOD Pizza Spirit Night All Day TODAY!

Panda Express Spirit Day SUCCESS!
Thank you to the MANY GBW families who participated in our Spirit Day at Panda Express in Greenbriar! We earned $687.50 to support our school! We appreciate everyone's patience during the busy dinner hour and all of your wonderful support of our PTA!
Girls On The Run Starts March 15!
Girls on the Run is so much fun! We are excited to announce that Girls on the Run will be happening in person this spring! There will be a few changes, but we know that our grade 3-6 girls will shine anyway! They will have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity, and learn important lessons to last a lifetime.
The Club meets outside on the GBW campus, Mondays 3:00-4:30 p.m. and Wednesday 4:15-5:15 p.m. Sign up and get more information at gotrnova.org or email Coach Drum or Coach Masten with any questions.

It’s BoxTops Submission Time Again - Due Date 2/26!
We know it is a strange time for everyone, but we are inching closer to kids returning to the halls of GBW! Earning money for the school to provide activities and resources for our kids through the BoxTops program can be done in 3 easy ways.
CLIPPING PHYSICAL BOXTOPS – While the physical BoxTops are on less products these days, they are still out there! Clip and save these for a collection next week – Due date February 26. For any questions and an address for the dropbox, please contact Shannon at gbwboxtops@gmail.com
SCANNING PHYSICAL GROCERY RECEIPTS -- For Products with the Scan Logo on them, you must submit your grocery receipts within 14 days of the product purchase. Regular In-Person Grocery Receipts can be submitted through the BoxTops 4 Education App – available on most smartphone platforms.
EMAILING ONLINE SHOPPING RECEIPTS – You can submit your online grocery receipts (delivery/drive up service) by forwarding your email receipt to receipts@boxtops4education.com using the same email that’s associated with your BoxTops 4 Education account/app.
