Return to School Information
We have had a great week with some of our youngest learners and enhanced autism students returning to the building this week. We are looking forward to our next group, Kindergarten, returning for in-person instruction on Tuesday, February 23rd.
Students should not arrive before 8:45 a.m. when the doors will open. All students must enter and exit through Door 1 (front entrance). Teachers and staff will be here to greet our Kindergarteners and escort them to class. If possible, placing a nametag on your child with First Name, Last Name and teacher would be very helpful.
Just a reminder, parents will not be permitted to enter the building until further notice.
Dismissal - Students will be released at 3:30 p.m.
If you are meeting your child to walk home, please be mindful of social distancing guidelines.
Early Pickups - Should you need to pickup your child before the end of the school day, please notify your child's teacher and the front office. Upon your arrival, ring the doorbell and your child will be released to you at Door 1.
School Hours
Kindergarten - 6th Grade - 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
AM Preschool - 9:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
PM Preschool - 12:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
PAC - 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
We have all our students safety and health as our top priority.
Masks are required at all times for adults, staff and children unless a medical exemption from a physician is provided to the school.
Meal Service for In-Person Students
Students will be served cold, grab and go style meals and are free for all students. Hot lunches will begin after spring break.
Menu: fcps.nutrislice.com
Grab and Go School Sites and meal delivery bus routes: fcps.edu/return-school/food
Our cafeteria is set up with social distancing protocols, dividers on all the tables for our students and extra space in the foyer.
Transportation Information
As we prepare for the return of students, we are working hard to make the safe transport of our students top priority.

With the need for social distancing we will not be able to honor bus passes this year for student playdates. Only students eligible to ride a school bus based on their address will be allowed to board the bus on their in-person days of the week. Daycare and dual custody situations must be approved with an "exception to ride" form available through the front office.
Once routes are finalized, parents can review their student's route assignment using their SIS ParentVue account. The Transportation Office will also send information to the enrolling parent's email.
Parents are reminded to be at the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the scheduled pickup time and adjustments will be made over the first few weeks. Please plan on arriving at the stop ahead of schedule for delivery at the end of the day as well. Kindergarten students must be met by a parent or guardian.
Buses are sanitized between each route. Please have patience with the drivers and possible delays as this is a new endeavor for everyone.
Kiss and Ride
All families who will be using Kiss and Ride will need a number to display as students are picked up at dismissal. Each number will be registered to a student, so we can safely match students to their vehicles.
Kiss and Ride numbers are now available for pick-up in our main office. You can call ahead to give your student's name, then come to the front door for your assigned number.
Please place the number on your car's dashboard passenger side at dismissal and pull all the way forward toward the end of the parking lot near the exit area. This will allow the buses access to enter the parking lot without causing congestion at the entrance of the driveway.
The Kiss and Ride number is not needed in the
morning for drop off.

Chrome Sync and Passwords
As part of FCPS’s ongoing effort to support student use of technology, Chrome Sync and the ability to save passwords will be available as an option starting on February 18th. Students are not required to use Chrome Sync and save passwords, but may choose to in order to:
- reduce their log-in time.
- access bookmarks and extensions across devices.
Chrome will remember and offer saved passwords when students are logging into different instructional applications. Chrome will also make bookmarks and extensions available on any device in which the student logs into Chrome and turns on Sync.
If your student would like to use Chrome Sync and save passwords, support resources are available on the FCPS website. If your child is logged into Chrome now, they may need to log out of Chrome and log back in to see the new features.
