Cedar Lane is awarded an anonymous grant

Cedar Lane PTSA is thrilled to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from an organization that wishes to remain anonymous.

This funding will support Cedar Lane students and families in the following three areas:

  1. Mini-grants for basic necessities such as groceries, utilities, internet, rent payment, and other emergency needs;

  1. Facilitate distance and concurrent learning during the COVID-19 pandemic and eventual return to school through the purchase of supplemental IT equipment to enable Cedar Lane teachers and staff to meet our students’ needs in the distance and concurrent learning environment; and

  1. Empower our students and families to plan and be ready for educational and employment opportunities after Cedar Lane.

We are launching Element 1 of the grant via email, text and on social media and inviting currently enrolled Cedar Lane students and their families to apply for a mini-grant using this simple form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdisKDRboRvfmkHrh34drIySmb1SWt-lMrY6bo-e6zKn2oV-w/viewform.  A school staff member will call to follow up via phone.

The PTSA Board, together with Cedar Lane Administration and teachers, is developing plans for Elements 2 and 3 of the grant in the next few weeks. Please stay tuned for news and updates via email and social media.

We welcome your suggestions and ideas for Elements 2 and 3—please feel free to email  Ms. Min at jmmin1@fcps.edu who will share them with the PTSA Board.

We are excited about the impact this grant will have on our Cedar Lane community and look forward to receiving your mini-grant applications, and sharing plans on Elements 2 and 3 shortly.

Sincerely,

Mr. Tom Lundy, Principal
