New Bell Schedule
Starting on Tuesday, January 16, please note the change to Mark Twain's Bell Schedule. You will see that our start time remains at 7:30am, but our academic day concludes at 2:00pm - instead of 2:15pm.
Some other items to note:
- Class time for periods 1-4 and 7 and 8 increases from 80 minutes to 82 minutes
- Class time for periods 5 & 6 increases from 80 minutes to 90 minutes
- Time in between class periods decreases from 15 minutes to 8 minutes
- Lunch time for all students decreases from 55 minutes to 30 minutes
School Holiday
Monday, February 15 is President's Day. There is no school for students or staff.
Return to School
Families who have opted for In Person instruction will return to school based on the following schedule:
8th Grade students – begin in person instruction the week of March 2
- Students with the last name A to K attend on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Students with the last name L to Z attend on Thursdays and Fridays
7th Grade students – begin in person instruction the week of March 9
- Students with the last name A to K attend on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Students with the last name L to Z attend on Thursdays and Fridays
On the days students are not In Person, they will continue virtual instruction from home.
Students attending In Person need to bring the following with them:
- Laptop and charger
- Headphones
- Water bottle
- Backpack
- Notebook
- Writing Utensils
This is a reminder that Twain is an Away for the Day School. Students do not use their cell phones while at Twain. Electronic Devices should be turned off and put away while students are in the building.

2021-22 Transition Corner
Rising 7th and 8th Grade Parents:
February 10, 2021
6pm – 7pm:
- Rising 7th and 8th Grade Program (appropriate for all parents of rising 7th and 8th graders)
- Presentation from teachers representing all subject areas
- Overview of the course selection process for the 2021-22 School Year
7pm – 8pm:
- AVID Information Session (parents of recommended students will be invited, but all are welcome to join)
- Advanced Academic Information Session (appropriate for the parents of Level IV eligible students)
Rising 9th Grade Parents:

- February 8th – School Counselors will be virtually meeting with Hayfield-bound 9th graders to review class options and make course selections for next year (links will be provided to students as we get closer to the event)
Edison High School

- February 19th – Students will get an overview of course options through 4th period
- February 24th – Parent Curriculum Night (time: TBD)
