Return to School Update
This week the FCPS School Board approved the Return to School timeline (below) and we are excited and busy getting ready to have Broncos back inside the building!
Brookfield students who have elected to attend school in-person will return on the following schedule:
-
PreK and Kindergarten: Week of February 23
-
Grades 1 and 2: Week of March 9th
-
Grades 3 -6: Week of March 16th
Students will be notified of the two days they will attend in-person.
Brookfield will also be adopting a new bell schedule for ALL students beginning February 16. Our schedule will be from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Dear Third and Fourth Grade Families,
We are very excited to see our Third and Fourth-grade students on Monday! If you have not made an appointment on Monday, please use the Sign-Up Genius to schedule a time.
To give you an updated device we need
- The old computer
- The old charger
- Your student's login information (username and password)
If you forget to bring the old computer and charger with you, we will not be able to give you the new computer. The old charger will not work with the new device. And, Fairfax county does not allow students to have two computers checked out at the same time.
If you do forget, but return with the equipment before 3:00 p.m., we will swap it that day.
If you have any questions, please email Kevin Feighery (kbfeighery@fcps.edu) and he can assist you.
Health Screening Commitment Form Required Prior to Student Return to School Buildings
As additional student groups return to school in person, parents and caregivers are asked to complete a Health Screening Commitment form before student(s) return to school buildings. This document confirms that a parent, caregiver, or guardian will complete a daily health screening and will keep their students home should they become ill.
You can find the form and translations on this webpage: https://brookfieldes.fcps.edu/announcements/health-screening-commitment-form-required-person-learning
The Health Commitment form can be submitted electronically through in ParentVUE (PVUE) beginning January 4, or submitted via email to our registrar, Sussy Carbajal at smcarbajal@fcps.edu.
Coat Closet
In collaboration with the PTA, Brookfield began its annual winter coat drive in December. Unfortunately, we are still in need of more coats. We will be collecting NEW winter coats on Monday, February 8th, from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm. This year, due to Covid-19, we will only collect NEW coats for distribution.
If you would like to receive a coat, email Shawnee C. Pace at SCPace@fcps.edu and specify the gender and size needed.
PTA Meeting on Friday, February 5th at 7:00
Join us Friday, February 5th for a PTA meeting to learn about what activities are coming up for the rest of the school year and give your input. Immediately following the meeting will be a Virtual Game Night: Better Together. We will play different virtual games that emphasize how our differences make us stronger. We will also have rooms for fan favorites, like Kahoot! and more.
