The Wildcat Way - February 5, 2021

Principal's Message

Dear Whitman Community,

The FCPS School Board approved the Return to School timeline proposed by Superintendent Brabrand at their regular meeting last night.  For families that have chosen to return to in-person learning two days per week, grade 8 students will begin the week of March 1 and grade 7 students will begin the week of March 8.  To help parents and students learn more about returning to in-person learning including necessary safety precautions and procedures, I will be holding a virtual Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at 6:00 PM.  We will have sessions in both English and Spanish.  I will send out the links to the meetings closer to the event.  For families that cannot attend, the session will be recorded and sent out later that week.  I hope you can join us then.

I also wanted to highlight several outstanding Wildcat staff!  We are proud of their contributions to the Whitman community and I hope you will join me in congratulating them.

Whitman’s Outstanding Teacher:  Ms. Karen Bullock, Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher

Whitman’s Outstanding New Teacher:  Ms. Angela Perez, English Special Education Teacher

Whitman’s Outstanding Operational Employee:  Ms. Joanna Ocasio, Student Services Assistant

Way to go, Wildcats!

Thank you for all you do for our students and I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Dr. Craig Herring
