Making YouTube Safer
We all know how much our students love scrolling through YouTube for education and entertainment. But we also know that not all videos are YouTube are appropriate for our students! Check out this video and article about 5 tips that can help us make YouTube safer for our kids!
Family Life Education (FLE) Family Information Session
On Tuesday, February 9th, BEFORE the PTA meeting at 6:00pm , families of students in grades 4-6 are invited to join us to learn more about our Family Life Education (FLE) curriculum which will be covered by students in those grades at some point in the next couple of months. Information about the curriculum as well as opt-out forms will be made available. FEBRUARY TOWN HALL AND PTA MEETING
Tuesday, February 9th at 6:30pm will be our Return to School Town Hall Meeting. This will be held in conjunction with our February PTA meeting and will begin promptly at 6:30 with PTA business at the front of the agenda. The link to join the meeting is listed below and we will have Spanish interpretation available for the entire session beginning with the PTA meeting. We will also be hosting the following Parent Coffee Hours leading up to each groups Return to In-person instruction.

Monday Morning Tutoring Initiative
We are happy to share news regarding our partnership w/ GrandInvolve, which is a non-profit made up of many retired teachers and volunteers, to support a Monday Morning Virtual “Homework Helpline” Initiative. We will offer synchronous tutoring/homework support as an option for all students in grades K-6 between the hours of 9am and 12pm. Tutors from GrandInvolve will staff the session weekly on BBCU. This will begin on February 1st, 2021.
Using the schedule below, any Riverside student in grades K-6 can log on to get support with homework/asynchronous work.

Iniciativa de tutoría para los lunes por la mañana
Nos complace compartir la buena nueva acerca de nuestra asociación con GrandInvolve, que es una organización sin fines de lucro formada por maestros y voluntarios jubilados, para apoyar una iniciativa virtual de "Línea de ayuda con las tareas" los lunes por la mañana. Ofreceremos tutoría virtual / apoyo con las tareas como una opción para todos los estudiantes en los grados K-6 de 9:00 am a 12 pm. Los tutores de GrandInvolve trabajarán semanalmente usando BBCU. Esto comenzará el 1 de febrero de 2021.
