FROST LIBRARY LOVERS READ-a-THON:
The Frost PTA-sponsored Read-a-Thon starts this week and will run from February 1-12. You should have received an e-mail from our fundraising platform 99 Pledges, with a link to your student’s personal donation page. The goal is for each student to read 200 minutes over the 12 days, and the school to raise $5,000 overall to help fund PTA-sponsored programs such as digital library books, literacy programs, world language instructional resources, academic competitions, and teacher recognition. For every $50 raised, students will earn a raffle ticket and chance to win prizes. In addition, the Top Earners in each grade will receive Amazon gift cards, and the English class with the highest participation will receive Starbucks e-gift cards. PTA MEETING TONIGHT, FEB. 2nd at 7:30pm:
This is a not-to-be-missed workshop featuring parenting specialist, Rachel Bailey, who will present Supporting Anxious Adolescents. With all the challenges we have faced this year, adolescents may seem more anxious than ever. In this workshop, you will learn how to respond effectively to your child in the moment when they are feeling worried, shutting down, or even becoming irritable or angry. You will also learn strategies to foster their overall resilience, so they are better equipped to handle obstacles now and in the future.

Rachel Baileyis a Parenting Specialist who has been serving families for over a decade. Besides being a mother of two, she also has a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, a certification in Positive Discipline, and has provided services as an ADHD Coach, in-home mentor, and therapist. Currently Rachel teaches parents hands-on tools for raising responsible, resilient, confident children... and helping parents find the time and energy to incorporate these tools into their lives.

“The Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) and Little Run Elementary School PTA are hosting a Woodson Pyramid PTA Meeting with our elected Braddock District School Board Rep, Megan McLaughlin, on Wednesday, Feb. 3 from 7-8PM.
"LET THE GOOD TYMES ROLL" with MARDI GRAS TYME FOOD TRUCK:
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, Feb. 16 from 2:30-7pm (during Lifetouch Picture Retakes) in the Frost MS Parking Lot. To get us in the spirit of Mardi Gras, Chef Craig will play lively New Orleans music outside his truck. Feel free to dress in Mardi Gras attire. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the Frost PTA. Please wear a mask and social distance. Meet Chef Craig and view the menu.
