Hayfield Drama Hawk Update:

VHSL One Act Auditions will be held online on January 25^th from 3-5pm.  Click on this link https://forms.gle/JPVJz3JcPCJKpS7M7 to sign up for VHSL audition information.  The VHSL One Act is a short student written play that will be rehearsed both online and in person this winter and spring.  The rehearsal schedule is still being determined.  The show will be performed and recorded once without an audience and submitted to VHSL.  Auditions are open to all high schoolers.

The high school play A Midsummer Night’s Dream continues virtual rehearsal next week Tuesday-Thursday from 3-5.

In person rehearsals will begin no sooner than February 16^th.

Required Paperwork to participate in VHSL Sports:

1. VHSL Physical:   VHSL Pre-Participation Exam Form Students must have a completed physical exam prior to participating in high school sports.  The exam must be completed by a MD, DO, NP or PA on the current VHSL form.  The form must be completed by the physician after May 1, 2020 to be valid for the 2020-21 school year.  
2. On Tuesday, November 17th, FCPS activities and athletic programs transitioned to a new online student registration system.  This new system offers a host of benefits for schools and community members including:

• One stop shop for registering your student for athletic programs and many common activities occurring throughout the school year
• Electronic submission of the emergency care card and weight room waiver- only have to fill these out once!
• A new home for the state-mandated concussion education program
• Each family will create an account and from this account, can register their student(s) for various activity and athletic opportunities.

Student-athletes in FCPS are required to be covered by medical insurance.  If your student is not covered by another plan, there is a link below to an option. PLEASE NOTE: If you athlete is participating in Football, they MUST purchase the football option (this is ONLY if you do not have personal health insurance)

Arrive less than 10 minutes before the tryout begins

Always wear a mask when not engaged in physical activity

Bring a minimum of 32 oz of water

Be prepared to tryout as no locker rooms will be made available

Leave as soon as the tryout is over. No socializing is allowed

All athletes must enter/exit at the same door that has been stated above

If you are experiencing illness symptoms of any kind, please stay home

Reminders:

• All students MUST wear their masks when attending any workouts, and MUST wear them anytime they are not socially distanced (NO Exceptions)
• All students MUST have a current VHSL physical and Emergency Care Card to participate
• When attending any workouts all students MUST remain in their cars at the designated drop off point until they go through the required prescreening check.  If they walk/bike they MUST remain in the designated spot and be socially distant until the screening process is completed.  
• Students will need their phone in order to complete the prescreening questions
• The prescreening process is a requirement so we ask that everyone be patient so we can do everything possible to ensure our students safety attending these workouts.
