Important Floris Return to In-Person Information

Return to In-Person Learning

At the school board meeting yesterday, the decision was made to move forward with Dr. Braband's proposed schedule of returning students in the hybrid/concurrent learning model for those families who have requested in-person instruction.

Please see below for important information about the plan.

Bell Schedule Change: Feb. 16

You’ll notice that all schools in FCPS are changing their bell schedule on February 16.  This is a significant change for Floris and is a change for ALL students, whether they chose to remain virtual or will be returning to school.

Our new bell schedule is 9:45am-4:15pm.

Below is the new Floris Tuesday-Friday Instructional Schedule which will begin on February 16.

Health and Safety

FCPS has discontinued required daily temperature checks for students at school. Parents and guardians will need to monitor children for symptoms of infectious illness every day through home-based symptom screening. Students who are sick may not attend in-person instruction. Parents and guardians should use the daily health screening to determine if their child should enter the school building.

The Parent/Guardian Health Screening Commitment Form must be completed before students return for in-person instruction.

Teacher/Class Changes

As we have shared in previous emails, the Return to In-Person learning will cause some changes to teachers and classes.

Watch for emails specific to each group as we move forward verifying the teacher and days of the week that in-person students will come to school or the teacher and continuing all virtual learning.

Concurrent Schedule

In order to continue to maintain the mitigation strategy of at least six feet social distancing, students coming in-person will attend two days of the week in the building and learn concurrently from home the other days of the week. Please see below.
