Black History Month

Freedom on the Menu

Silverbrook is recognizing Black History Month through storytelling. Our own Ms. Taylor will read a book that captures moments of history made in her hometown. Join us on February 10 at 6:30 pm. Use this link to access the event http://bit.ly/2XFAKDo

Professional Development for Teachers

Our teachers will participate in professional development on Monday, February 8, from 9:15-10:15. Students will log in at 8:50am to participate in morning meeting and receive directions for learning tasks. Instruction will resume with small groups at 10:30am.

Our Playground is Shaping Up

After so many months our playground is shaping up. There is still more to do, but we can see that significant work has been completed. Although tempting, please do not access the area.

Student Attendance

Moms, dads, and guardians, please help us by ensuring your child is logged in and completes the school day. We’ve noticed that some students are choosing not to participate in specials and walk away from their learning opportunity. Specials (i.e. art, music, P.E. STEAM, FLES) are part of the FCPS program of studies. We would appreciate your support in discussing this with your child/ren.

Picture Days for Yearbook Coming in March

We are pleased to announce that we have scheduled 2 Picture Days in March.  The days are Monday, March 15th and Monday, March 22nd.  More information will be forthcoming soon regarding times and procedures.  Please be sure to mark those dates on your calendar to have your student photographed here at Silverbrook.

All students, whether they wish to purchase a picture package or not, will be asked to schedule an appointment to have their picture taken.  Photos taken will appear in the 2020-2021 yearbook.

Stay tuned for more information on both Picture Days and the 2020-2021 Yearbook as it becomes available.
