OES Weekly Message

counselors

National School Counselor Week is February 1-5.  We are so fortunate to have the very best counselors in all of FCPS!  Mrs. Shana Schnaue & Mrs. Kim Theberge work with our students to help them solve problems, improve study skills, resolve conflicts, cope with difficult experiences, and to interact positively with their peers.  Shana & Kim are super responsive to parent & staff needs as well. We celebrate them and thank them for all they do for our students, staff, and community!

positivity project

Next week, students will discuss integrity. Integrity means you are honest and speak the truth. You present yourself genuinely and sincerely. Integrity is doing the right thing when nobody is watching. People with integrity practice what they preach and maintain a consistent pattern of behavior aligned with their values. They have the courage not to follow the crowd if it means going against their beliefs. Integrity is closely aligned with the terms of honesty and authenticity. People with integrity tell the truth and have alignment in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Parent/ Guardian Health Screening Commitment Form

Parents or guardians who chose an in-school instructional option for their child will be required to complete a Parent/Guardian Health Screening Commitment form as students are phased back into in-person learning.  The commitment form is available in EnglishAmharicArabicChineseFarsiKoreanSpanishUrdu, and Vietnamese.

This document indicates the parent or guardian’s agreement and commitment to completing a daily health screening prior to sending the student to school and also to keep ill students at home.

Parents/guardians who have indicated that their child will attend in-school instruction will receive the commitment form electronically, or via hard copy, in their preferred correspondence language prior to their student resuming in-person instruction.

Parents/guardians may choose to provide their response electronically or may choose to return a hard copy form with their signature.
