Dear Artists and Families!

I have some exciting news for art!  We will be working with modeling clay or Play-doh the first two weeks in February!!  Students were provided modeling clay in their art supply bag at the beginning of the year. If they no longer can find their modeling clay, Play-doh works great too!

Here are two great videos on how to make homemade playdoh and salt clay!!

Homemade Playdoh: Playdoh How to Video

Salt Clay: Salt Clay How to Video

Students will also need a piece of paper to work on as a mat so the oils don’t get everywhere. A plastic bag or tight container to seal up their clay after is also very important.

Artists will also be asked to share their work on Padlet. I will create virtual art galleries so I can see their work and other students can see their masterpieces too! If you have not signed the Technology consent form, they will not be able to share their work as an artist.  Please consider signing the tech consent or emailing me to give them permission to use Padlet. Have a wonderful day!!

Artfully, Ms. Crabtree

Westfield "Social Distan-SING!"

Mondays from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. beginning February 15 through March 22nd.

Open to students in grades 5 to 8, our Social Distan-SING will provide students with an opportunity to join together with Westfield Chorus and singers from around our pyramid to form a virtual pyramid choir. Students will be learning a song that they will record and be combined into a super cool virtual choir performance!

Each Monday will feature a warm up, quick game/activity, and rehearsal. Students will be led by Mrs. Pierce, Westfield's Choral Director, along with Westfield Choir students and some special guests. Rehearsals will be hosted on Google Meets, and students will be given access to a special Google Classroom with music and resources.

Health Screening Commitment Form

Parents/Guardians who have indicated that their child will attend in-school instruction must provide a health commitment before the student(s) return to school buildings.

While some students will continue to participate in virtual learning, only Parent/Guardians of students that will be returning to in-person learning are being asked to acknowledge this one-time commitment to health screening so we may be prepared as students are phased back into in-person learning.

There are two options to provide the response, electronically in SIS ParentVUE or via hard copy.

HealthScreeningCommitment.pdf email to our Registrar as soon as possible.

Thank you!
