A Message from Ms. Jankovich
Dear Sangster Families,
I want to take a moment and officially introduce our new Acting Assistant Principal, Cindy Agner. Mrs. Agner introduced herself to the students during the January 4 News Show and is excited to share a little bit about herself at the PTA meeting tonight. Mrs. Agner, a lifelong resident of Fairfax County, has been an educator in the county for 19 years. Mrs. Agner is coming to us from another Region 4 school, Kings Glen, where she has been the Advanced Academics Resource Teacher for many years. Mrs. Agner has been a classroom teacher and is known throughout the county for her work on social studies instruction and curriculum writing. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Agner to our staff!
If you are able, please join the PTA meeting this evening (link at the top of today’s News You Choose). While I don’t have many new school-updates to share tonight, I am always happy to answer any questions that you may have.

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to providing all students access to meals during the week of January 18-26, where there are two school holidays and one student holiday/teacher workday. The following plan will be in place:
Monday, January 18
• No meal service
Tuesday, January 19
• Meal Kit sites open
• Bus routes will offer 2 days of breakfast, lunch, snack and supper
• Grab & Go locations will offer 2 days of breakfast, lunch, supper, and snack
Wednesday, January 20
• No meal service
Thursday, January 21
• Bus routes will offer 2 days of breakfast, lunch, snack and supper
• Grab & Go locations will offer 2 days of breakfast, lunch, supper, and snack
Friday, January 22
• Bus routes will offer 3 days of breakfast and lunch, and one day of snack and supper.
• Grab & Go locations will offer 3 days of breakfast and lunch, and one day of snack and supper.
Monday, January 25
• No meal service.
Tuesday, January 26
• Resume regular meal service.
Meals will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

This week’s character strength is Prudence. This means that you plan for the future and achieve your goals by making careful everyday choices. Prudence is the ability to do the right thing, at the right time, for the right reason. It's a future-oriented way of thinking that helps a person set goals, make plans, and have the discipline to accomplish them. It is cognitive – more a strength of the head than of the heart.

Sangster ES School Picture Days are here! Please use the link below to choose an appointment time for your student(s) to have a Lifetouch portrait taken in the school gym. Portrait appointments are available on February 1st and February 8th from 9AM to 4PM. More information on procedures and safety protocols will be coming next week!
