Crossing Guard Appreciation Day

Crossing Guard Appreciation Day

February 10, 2021

Let your crossing guard know how much you appreciate their service

Fairfax County Police Department and the City of Fairfax Police Department hire and train our FCPS crossing guards.  The crossing guards' work keeps our students safe when walking or biking to and from school each day.  Hopefully we will all be back in school soon and able to give a heartfelt thanks to our crossing guards.

Thank you cards and other resources are available to download and print on the VDOT Safe Routes to School website.

QuickStart Mini-grants are designed to get your Safe Routes to School program going and build momentum. They can be used to fund a range of activities that encourage safe walking and bicycling to school.  Mini grants are worth up to $1000 and should include as many students as possible.  The next mini grant due date is February 4, 2021.  Do you have a project or idea in mind to promote walking and biking to your school?  Apply here.
