Please join us in welcoming Ms. Jill Boddie to our school beginning Monday, January 11th. Ms. Boddie is our new Student Information Assistant/Registrar and she replaces Mrs. Nolan who retired in December.
Ms. Boddie is a product of FCPS Schools having graduated from Madison High School. She joined FCPS in 2013 after working for years in private industry as a Contracts Administrator. She has been working in the office at Eagle View ES.
Jill has three children, including a senior at Chantilly High School. She enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and baking.
We are excited to have Jill join our Lees Corner community! She can be reached at jwboddie@fcps.edu
All learning will be asynchronous (independent) on Monday, January 11th. FCPS has designated this day as a Teacher Planning Day.
Asynchronous work will be available and students will NOT have Morning Meetings. Students must begin the work in order to receive credit for attendance.
Ongoing challenges of COVID-19 and school closures continue to have a significant impact on children’s mental health. Parents who are concerned about their child’s emotional well-being may be looking for help. This one pager (https://bit.ly/38k8Xyz) from Healthy Minds Fairfax provides easy-to-digest information and is a valuable resource.
As Superintendent Brabrand shared recently, the plan to bring students in Groups 1-5 back into school for in person learning is currently paused. Community transmission of COVID-19 in Fairfax County remains high. Dr. Brabrand will provide an update on the Return to School plan to the School Board on Tuesday, February 2.
Because we will not be transporting students to school during the pause in our plan, we will not be moving to the new bell schedule on January 12. We will continue to use the current bell schedule and will communicate any future changes to the bell schedule in advance.
Monday, January 11 will remain an independent (asynchronous) learning day for students and teacher preparation day.
Once we have a date for students and staff to return for in person instruction in school buildings, we will need to provide preparation days for teachers. Students will be doing independent learning on teacher preparation days. We will communicate those dates once we confirm return to school dates in the future.
At this time, the bell schedule will NOT be changing as previously advertised. The schedule will remain the same until students return to in person learning. Students should continue to login daily at the regular time.
The current bell schedule is 8:50 a.m. to 3:35 p.m.
Library curbside pickup will continue on the following dates and times:
January 11th, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
January 25th, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
