WELCOME BACK!!!! We are so glad you are here!
Dear OHES Families,
We hope you enjoyed the time with your families over the break. We are back and working hard already. Students were eagerly waiting to see their teachers and friends in their Morning Meetings! We are thrilled to see their smiling faces.
The school board will be meeting today to go over the Return to School plans. With some students returning back into the building, some of the daily schedules will shift a bit. Our goal is to keep it as close to possible to the current schedule. We will send an update of the schedule in the coming week.
We are excited to begin 2021! We know there has been much uncertainty since last March. We will continue to partner with you and navigate the road ahead. We all have one common goal, and that is the success for each child at Orange Hunt.
Thank you for all that you do to support your child and our staff.
Warm wishes,
Karen Tuttle, Kate Austin and Megan Tempel- Milner

Helpful Hints
Self-Regulation Strategy #1: BREATHING
Self-Regulation also referred to as emotional regulation is the ability to recognize and manage our emotions and behaviors. It is the way we respond to our feelings. It is important for children to learn to manage their emotions, behavior, and body movements when faced with difficult or challenging situations. Self-Regulation strategies can help children become flexible when expectations or routines change and/ or allow them to remain calm when experiencing heightened emotions.
A common self-regulation strategy includes: BREATHING. Teaching children to utilize breathing exercises (examples) can assist them in being more mindful, attentive, grounded, relaxed, calm, focused, productive, and emotionally controlled.
Take the time to support children by practicing and pausing regularly to engage in breathing exercises. Encourage children to notice and name how the different breathing exercises affect how they feel, think, and behave.
