WAKEFIELD FOREST ES MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

front of school

Dear Wakefield Forest Families,

We are glad to welcome you back following our winter break. I know we are all excited to have 2020 in our rearview mirror.  We are looking forward to great things this year.

As a reminder, today, January 4, 2021 is a teacher workday. There is no live instruction or small groups today. Students should work asynchronously on assigned tasks. If you have questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

In the new year, while teachers will be recording videos, these will posted or shared with families only by request. There are several steps involved in posting these videos, and based on the current data our view rate is exceptionally low. Should you need to view a recording from a lesson, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.

The School Board will be meeting tomorrow, January 5, 2021 at approximately 3:00 PM to discuss Return to School. Watch here: https://www.fcps.edu/tv/ch99

I will share additional information about the impacts to our return plan as I have them available. As was shared in 2020, WFES is slated to shift our bell schedule start time January 12, 2021 to 9:00 AM. We are awaiting information from tomorrow's school board meeting prior to sharing what the impacts of this shift will be for our families. Information about shifts to the schedule will be sent directly from classroom teachers. We know changes are challenging and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you.

Sharyn Prindle

Principal

      Classroom Monitor Positions Open

As a part of our return to in-person instruction, our school will require classroom monitors for positions with staff approved to remain virtual. If you would like more information about the position, please review the job description and qualifications online and apply if interested. Please feel free to share information about this opportunity with anyone else you think may be interested.
