Principal's Message - 12/23/20

Winter Break

Good Morning Stone Parents and Families~

I hope each of you and your families are enjoying the start to winter break. This time of year is always busy and with the added challenges of Covid-19, it certainly has impacted plans, celebrations and traditions. While many of us will spend the break and holiday season differently this year, I want to wish each of you  joy, peace and hope as we close out this incredibly difficult year. I feel so grateful to be a part of this wonderful community and look forward to brighter days ahead in 2021.

As I share my final message of 2020, I will keep it brief and highlight a few more of our students as part of our Portrait of a Panther program. After the winter break, I will send out information as it relates to Return to School to include upcoming Stone town halls.

I look forward to seeing you in 2021. In the meantime, I hope you can take some time to unplug, relax and continue to take care of yourselves.

Happy Holidays, Meredith Norris Principal

Portrait of a Panther

Portrait of a Panther Winners for week of 12/14

It was the last week before winter break, and our students did not let the snow or upcoming break distract them too much. I loved how this week’s winners really engaged in class discussions, shared their work with classmates and were overall great communicators and collaborators.   This week’s Portrait of a Panther winners are: Ruth Abraiza Bonilla, Tania Dixon, Kelsey Dolan, Siya Jani, Royce Kremkru, Ewan McDonough, Meaghan McLaughlin, Maya Mladenovic, Jayden Millhouse, Emily Spinar and Henna Yousufzai.

Adopt a Soldier

Adopt a Soldier

Looking for something simple and easy to do as a family. America’s Adopt a Soldier® program is celebrating the 10th year of its National Care Letter Campaign to honor deployed service members and veterans in state homes and hospitals. Writing letters of appreciation would be a great activity for students and families to engage in during the winter break. Now more than ever, veterans in veterans’ homes and hospitals are feeling isolated. Many have no family or family nearby and eagerly await visits from volunteers. However, these visits have not been possible due to health and safety restrictions resulting from the pandemic.

Cards and letters will be accepted through Tuesday, December 29, and should be mailed to:

America’s Adopt a Soldier
