Terra Centre Families,
2020 is finally winding down… it’s certainly been a year unlike any other, full of challenges and situations we never could have imagined. My hope is that we can recognize some of the silver linings. There has been a tremendous sense of human spirit and giving as we tried to keep each other safe and take care of one another. And although it’s been so difficult to juggle online learning, work schedules, and pandemic stress, we have persisted, learned new things, remained hopeful, and found a way to still build relationships and connections virtually.
Thank you for your support, kind words, and encouragement as our staff has bravely navigated this uncharted territory! It means the world to us. As we put 2020 behind us, we are looking forward to the promise and hope of 2021!

Return to School Proposed Dates
The FCPS School Board discussed Return to School plans at their meeting on December 10 (School Board Work Session 12-10-20). The DRAFT proposal for return to school dates is below. This is based on metrics and is subject to change; however, we felt it important that you have these dates as a heads up. This will be revisited on January 5th at the School Board meeting.

Updated Bell Schedule
At the School Board Work session on December 10, Superintendent Brabrand presented a revised phase-in plan to return all students who have selected the in-person option starting in January 2021. Since that meeting, FCPS staff have worked to improve start times and end times for all levels.
Barring any changes to the plan that may be impacted by the pandemic, the following bell schedule will be in place effective January 12, 2021 for both virtual and in- person instruction. FCPS feels this plan is a significant improvement and less disruptive over what was presented in the original plan last summer.

Terra Centre’s Bell Schedule will be 9:00 – 3:30 for all students.
The fifteen (15) minute reduction in the school day is due to the increased cleaning time required between bus runs. Additionally, as more students return to school, the number of students allowed on each bus will be reduced substantially to meet social distancing requirements. With fewer students able to ride a bus at the same time, FCPS has no choice but to adjust the times that our buses are transporting students.

- Bus routes will offer 4 days of breakfast and lunch.
- Grab & Go locations will offer 4 days of breakfast and lunch.
Monday, 12/21
- Bus routes will offer 4 days of breakfast and lunch.
- Grab & Go locations will not distribute any meals.
Tuesday, 12/22
- Bus routes will offer 4 days of breakfast and lunch.
- Grab & Go locations will offer 14-day meal kits.
- Meal Kits sites will offer 14-day meal kits
Wednesday, 12/23 through Friday, 1/1/21 -- No food service
Monday, 1/4/2021
- Bus routes delivering breakfast and lunch will resume daily service.
- Grab & Go locations will not distribute any meals.
Tuesday, 1/5/2021
- Grab & Go locations resume daily meal distribution.
Wednesday, 1/6/2021
- Sites that distribute 7-day meal kits resume.
