Winter Break Message
Winter break and the new year are just around the corner. Scott and I would like to take a moment to pause and share our thanks, gratitude and awe of our community's support and engagement. 2020 has been a wild and unexpected ride for all of us and yet your support and encouragement has remained consistent.
Students and staff at Kings Park ES are fortunate to benefit from such a supportive community and 2020 has been no different. We wish everyone a happy and healthy winter break.
*Please note that the school office will be closed over winter break as we all take some much needed time to be with family and rejuvenate for 2021.

Student Book Bag Distribution
Kings Park staff has been busy creating book bags for students to provide the opportunity to have access to more books to read from home. Curbside pickup will be available for grade levels at the following days and times;
Kindergarten: January 4th 10:00am – 11:30am and 1:30pm - 3:30pm
For families who were unable to pick up your child's book bags last week, you may come to Kings Park between 8:30am - 3:30pm to pick up Dec 14-18th. Kings Park will be closed during the winter break Dec 19-Jan 3. When picking up your child's book bag, please use the buzzer at the front office. Please note that a face covering or mask is required when picking up materials or visiting KPES.
Tech Tip: Winter Break Tech Tip
If you have an FCPS issued laptop restart the computer several times during winter break. If you will be out of town, turn on the computer when you return and restart it several times before classes resume in January.
Log in to your child's fcpsschools.net email to locate your BBCU class links and other resources so your child is ready for learning.
If you experience any issues with your FCPS issued laptop, please submit a ticket through our IT Portal .

Check out the many resources in our community to support families with food, clothing, and other needs. Pleas share with information with anyone that you feel may be of benefit.

Spiritwear Order Pick UP, tomorrow
Did you order Kings Park/Kings Glen spirit wear in the Fall? Pick up at the Kings Park bus loop.
- Wednesday, December 16 from 3-5pm.
Contact Stacy Weiner at stacyweiner21@gmail.com with any questions or concerns. If there is a change in the distribution due to inclement weather, an email will be sent to those that have orders and the news will be posted on the PTA's facebook page. Please keep an eye out for any updates.
1st Virtual Coloring Contest
The Kings Park/Kings Glen PTA is excited to announce our very first virtual coloring contest! Entries are due Monday, December 28 at 5pm and three winners will be chosen. See our website for more information!

The Kings Park/Kings Glen PTA is excited to welcome FCPS school board members Megan Mclaughlin and Laura Jane Cohen for a special PTA meeting on Thursday, January 14 at 7pm via Zoom. More information coming soon!
The PTA is excited to offer a FREE virtual cooking class with Tiny Chefs on Thursday, January 28! We will be cooking pineapple fried rice. Details and link for registration coming soon!
