A HUGE thank you to our generous Cooper Community!
The PTO exec board and admin team send a HUGE, HOLIDAY-SIZED THANK YOU to our students, parents, teachers and staff for their generosity during our toy, coat and food drive conducted Monday. We are thrilled to report that we are able to provide:
- 105 toys for the kindergarten classes at our sister school in Falls Church, Pine Springs Elementary
- 22 coats for students at Pine Springs Elementary
- Approximately 1900 canned food items for SHARE of McLean, in addition to the 4650 items collected at LHS during our joint drive, for a total of approximately 6550 items. The canned food drive was such an amazing success that we are in discussions to host another, to help when the food pantry is typically depleted in the Feb/Mar timeframe.
Remind your student to upload their photo to X2Vol in order to receive one hour of service learning credit. Questions about this process should be directed to your student’s Civics teacher, or Ms. Derr (cederr@fcps.edu). Thank you to Jackie Grayer for her assistance in delivering our donations to SHARE.
