Principals' Message
Happy December Gunston Families,
We’ve made it to the end of the calendar year, and we are so proud of our staff and students for their hard work and accomplishments. We have a lot to be thankful for over these past few months. As we approach the holiday season, it is a reminder to discuss the character trait of kindness. We will be talking about this topic in the classroom next week, as we participate in our Inclusive Schools Spirit Week. We hope you continue to have the conversations at home and share ways our eagles can be kind to each other.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Virtual Turkey Trot and Canned Food Collection. We were so impressed by the amount of families who participated and supported our students. We look forward to continuing to offer opportunities for our students to participate in our familiar experiences during these unusual times.
As we move together into the New Year, let us continue to strive for collaboration and communication. Together we are better! We are excited to maintain a wonderful partnership. We hope that everyone will have a restful and happy winter break. We will continue to keep you informed as our return to school dates evolve. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. We look forward to the new year ahead!
Fondly,
Ms. Rucinski and Mrs. Opie

Greetings from the Art Room
Gunston Students will soon be creating COLLAGE ARTWORKS (cut and glue paper art). We will begin working with collage materials the first week in January
Please make sure your child has the following supplies to work with during Art Class beginning the week of January 4 through the end of the month.
- Construction Paper (variety of colors)
- Child Size Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Sketchbook of white paper (the same book/paper they have been using for drawing)
- Bag to hold all supplies/cut papers together between art classes
*NOTE: A small baggie of construction papers was given to each student with other supplies during laptop distribution at the beginning of the year. Scissors and glue sticks are on the student grade level supply list. The local dollar store also carries supplies. If you are still in need of supplies, please contact me ASAP at ahgorham@fcps.edu, so I can prepare supplies for you to stop by the office to pick-up before December 18th.
