Student Catch Up Days
FCPS has mandated that all schools have 2 “catch-up days” this quarter. This is a school based decision for the two dates. After collaborating with other schools, we have decided to schedule the days for December 10 and 11. The students are to check-in virtually and the teacher can be available for assistance. The students do not need to stay in the class and no new assignments should be given on those days. These are days to provide additional time to work on assignments.
YEARBOOK UPDATE
WS Parents, the emails you’re receiving from Herff Jones and LifeTouch are not spam. These emails are related to purchasing a yearbook and taking portraits for the yearbook, so you can open these emails without concern. We look forward to documenting this school year with you!
YEARBOOK PHOTO SUBMISSIONS
This school year is going to be different. We want to preserve as much as we can for our students and that includes the yearbook. This will be a keepsake to be enjoyed for years to come, but we need you! Please send us pictures of your students and their friends! We will be asking for pictures representing everything from the first day of school to mask fashion and more! Download the Herff Jones eShare app (available on iOS and Android) to begin sharing (password: spartanyearbook). Questions, contact Ms. Melissa Morgan, mmorgan2@fcps.edu.
Winter Sports Town Hall Meeting - December 3, 6:00pm
- We are looking to hold a town hall meeting for winter sports parents on Thursday December 3rd at 6:00pm , the goal is to provide you with the most up to date information at that time.
- If you plan to attend please register at the following link: https://forms.gle/sUPJay3ggVGNWmpH8
- Parents MUST now register their children who plan to tryout for sports. The registration site allows you to complete most of the paperwork online, including the concussion education. This registration must be completed by all athletes regardless if they have already turned in paperwork since the start of this school year. Just completing the registration does not make them eligible, it is a step in the process.
A copy of the physical will still need to be turned in to the Athletic Trainers and must be cleared by us before the athlete is allowed to participate. Physicals can be scanned and emailed to Chris Worrell (cworrell@fcps.edu) and is the preferred way or mailed to Chris Worrell, West Springfield HS, 6100 Rolling Road, Springfield 22152.
