Parent Coffee

Parents we invite you to join us for our December Parent Coffee,  December 10, 2020,  from 9:00-10:00 AM.

Rachel Carson Middle School Student Services Department is hosting parenting specialist, Rachel Bailey, for a parenting workshop about, "Supporting Your Child During Virtual Learning": This year, we are facing unique challenges when it comes to virtual learning. These challenges may lead to more arguments and more feelings of frustration in both students and parents! In this workshop, you'll learn actionable tips and strategies to address common obstacles such as low motivation, difficulty with online meetings and schoolwork, and feelings of social isolation.

Please use the link below to register.  A link to attend the Parent Coffee will be sent to registered families on the day of the event.

Virtual Book Fair

It is time for the RCMS Book Fair! Due to the pandemic, the Book Fair is going to look a little different this year. Shop at your own convenience at our RCMS Bookworm online store:

RachelCarsonMiddleOnlineBookstore

Why should you shop at the RCMS Book Fair? The Book Fair raises money to help the RCMS library. Last year the RCMS librarians purchased over 100 eBooks. These eBooks have been essential to keeping students reading during this virtual time.

Is it easy to shop at the RCMS Book Fair? Shopping the virtual Book Fair is like shopping at any other online store. The RCMS librarians have created custom lists based on our students’ interests; however, if you do not see a title listed, you can search for it. Credit cards are accepted, and shipping is free with a $30 purchase.

How long will the Book Fair be open? Since we are virtual, the Book Fair will be open for an extended period, November 20 – January 18. Shop early to beat the Black Friday rush and get a gift for everyone on your list!
