Walk to School Day: November 18, 2020 - Dedicated to Ruby Bridges

Ruby Bridges

Get some fresh air and keep moving on November’s Walking Wednesday, November 18, dedicated to Ruby Bridges. This an opportunity for students and their families to walk in their neighborhoods for a boost of energy and for neighbors to reconnect at a safe social distance. Families are encouraged to find ways to cheer on their neighbors as they walk in their neighborhoods.

Free Art Supplies

The school office has FREE supplies for your child's Art specials class available for pickup, specifically white drawing paper and watercolors. If your student does not have either, please stop by the office anytime between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm Monday - Friday. If your student needs additional supplies such as pencils, colored pencils, etc., please email your child's Art teacher to request them:

AAP Information

  • A reminder that all referrals for the full-time Level IV services screening for students in grades 2-6 are being accepted now through December 1, 2020.  Referral forms are emailed to the Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART), Diane Overton (dloverton@fcps.edu)  and principal Jill Stewart (JDStewart1@fcps.edu).The email will count as a digital signature for the referral.  Please attach the Parent/ Guardian Questionnaire as a separate document.  Parents may provide up to four work samples that must be attached as single documents in a pdf or jpeg format.  No videos will be accepted.  Referrals will not be accepted past December 1, 2020
  • Please refer your student who needs advanced studies in all four content areas (math, reading/writing, science and social studies) regardless of notice about the second grade pool.  The pool cut-off has not yet been determined and the December 1 deadline will be followed regardless of this notice to parents.
