FCPS Cares

Kudos...

To Jan Rayl for being recognized as an employee who shows that FCPS Cares.

Ms. Rayl works with the Fairfax County School of Practical Nursing FCPS Program as an instructor in the Intro to Nursing and Patient Care Technician classes.  She is also a registered nurse.  She volunteered her time to participate in West Springfield High School's first VIRTUAL Career Fair by creating a video for students to see about working in the health care industry.  Her video was fantastic.  I have had the opportunity to see her teach before when I visited her program with a student. As an instructor, she is knowledgeable and kind. I often tell students who are interested in these classes how wonderful she is. She was also one of the first teachers to go back into the building with students since the COVID-19 closures. She is an amazing resource and FCPS is lucky to have her.

Celebrating Our Students!

Our weekly recognition of students who are demonstrating excellence in academics, behavior or citizenship.

  • Oscar Umanzor Rubio attends office hours with me at least once a week to check on what assignments are due and to get help as necessary. He is also very attentive during class, and is always very courteous in all his interactions with his classmates and me. Tina Masciangioli
  • Stevie Aguilar is usually early for class, is attentive during class, and usually completes all assignments on time and with care. She attends office hours or e-mail to ask clarifying questions or get extra help. Tina Masciangioli
  • Nick Marinaccio has recently started attending office hours with me on Mondays and is getting his assignments completed. Tina Masciangioli
  • I am really proud of Rebecca Pineda this year. She has really done a great job so far. She participates in class discussions, completes assignments, and gets good grades on most assessments. Tina Masciangioli
  • Steven Ventura-Leon is a real pleasure to have in class. He always participates in class discussions, and has a very cheerful and positive attitude that I appreciate a lot, especially at the end of the day in 8th period. Tina Masciangioli
  • Lourdes Najarro-Zepeda has done a great job reaching out to me to work on prioritizing and managing her assignments. Tina Masciangioli
  • Fernando Perez has mastered the content in Algebra so far, and because he is not satisfied with mere excellence, he has also helped several of his classmates understand both the math, and the challenge of using Google Classroom to turn in assignments. Fernando is the most collaborative student in Algebra so far. Curran Roller
