Nov 16-20, 2020

 The goal of Virginia College Application Week is to provide opportunities for all seniors to apply to at least one college or university!

 

How to Participate in Virginia College Application Week

1. Take a look at the schedule below and pick one or more events you’d like to participate in.
2. Open the attached document for event details and action items and read through them.
3. Some events require no additional action items. Just join the link at the time of the event! Be sure to add the event(s) to your calendar and/or set a reminder on your phone so you don’t miss it.
4. For the others, follow the action items closely to be sure you’re able to participate fully in the event.
5. Be sure to check out all of the participating schools that do not charge application fees. If you’re interested in one or more of these schools, but need help with the application process, please reach out to me (lqcudahy@fcps.edu) or your counselor.

Virginia State University Info Session / Onsite Admissions Opportunity – Tues, Nov 17, 10:15 am

• Register HERE to attend the info session and/or participate in the admissions event.
• To participate in the VSU virtual "on-site" admission, complete your free online application at www.vsu.edu/apply
• Inform your counselor that you are participating in the Onsite Admissions Day and be sure to request a transcript be sent to VSU.
• VSU is test optional. If you wish to submit SAT/ACT scores, request the official scores be sent by the testing company.

Norfolk State University Info Session / Application Workshop

• Find out about this popular HBCU in Norfolk where several Westfield students attend.
• NSU recently announced a partnership with Netflix for the first ever Netflix Virtual HBCU Boot Camp.
• Seniors will have the opportunity to sign up for a one-on-one meeting with the admissions representative.

Longwood University Onsite Admissions – Mon, Nov 23, 11 am – 1 pm

• Register here: HERE. You will be assigned a time after you register.
• Complete your Longwood University application by Thurs, Nov 19.
• Longwood is test optional.
• If you wish to submit SAT/ACT scores, request the official scores be sent by the testing company.
• Inform your counselor that you are participating in the Onsite Admissions Day and be sure to request a transcript be sent to UMW.
• Note: Nursing students are not eligible for the on-site admissions day.

University of Mary Washington Onsite Admission – Weds, Nov 18, afternoon announcement/evening appts

• Register HERE on UMW link.
• Complete your UMW application by Mon, Nov 16.
• You will receive a decision via email on the afternoon of Weds, Nov 18. You will have the option to schedule a one-on-one time with the admissions officer in the evening.
• UMW is test optional. Be sure to check the test optional box on the application, if needed.
• If you wish to submit SAT/ACT scores, request the official scores be sent by the testing company.
• Inform your counselor that you are participating in the Onsite Admissions Day and be sure to request a transcript be sent to UMW.
• Note: Nursing students are not eligible for the on-site admissions day.

Radford University – Thurs, Nov 19, 3 – 5 pm

• Complete your Radford application by Mon, Nov 16
• Radford is test optional. Be sure to check the test optional box on the application, if needed.
