Did You Know…DMV’s Virginia Multidisciplinary Crash Investigation Team (VMCIT) investigates and reports on how crashes are the result of driver, vehicle, and environmental factors interacting in a variety of ways.

In 2019 there were 1444 crashes in Fairfax County between the ages of 15-20. Thirty-five were alcohol related, 1 of those was fatal. As of August 2020 there were 739 crashes between the ages of 15-20. Twenty-six were alcohol related, no fatalities. What are rules in your house around drinking/distracted driving?

Underclass Photos (Grades 9, 10 & 11): November 16th

  • Students will be instructed to enter the photography location through one set of doors and then asked to exit through a separate location to maintain social distancing.
  • All individuals, school staff and Lifetouch photography staff will be expected to wear facial coverings and adhere to social distancing guidelines, per the CDC. More information on Lifetouch safety protocols for underclass photography can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LevtvXI9l2Q&feature=youtu.be
  • This will be a “paperless” photography program. Camera cards or picture tickets are no longer required. Additionally, any student wishing to purchase a picture package will have the opportunity to do so online both before and after picture day. Picture orders will not be accepted at the camera.
  • All finished picture packages will be sent directly to students’ homes.
  • Instant ID’s will be given to students on-site upon exiting the photography location.

Attention Class of 2024!!

It's T-shirt time! We will be handing out t-shirts to the class of 2024 on Monday, November 23, 2020 between the hours of 8:00 – 3:30. Below are directions for signing up for this event:

  1. First sign up for a time slot. The times are divided into half hour increments. It is important that you arrive during the time frame you selected. Here is the link for the sign up genius: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C054CA5AA22A2F49-class1
  2. Create a sign with your student’s name and the size t-shirt they ordered. You will show this to the staff when you pull up to the table.
  3. When you arrive at Langley, enter the main entrance and turn left through the front lot in front of the school.
  4. The table will be on the side walk.
  5. Once its your turn, pull up to the table and hold up your sign.
  6. A staff member will give you a t-shirt while you remain in the car.
  7. Once completed, please exit the parking lot quickly as we don’t want to create a traffic jam on Georgetown Pike.

We look forward to seeing everyone on the 23rd!

The FCPS Schoology team is looking for initial parent feedback on Schoology. Please submit your feedback here. More opportunities for parent feedback are being planned, and we will let you know when we know more.

Action Requested: Help save trees and FCPS $$ on postage by opting in to receive “Paperless” Report Cards (that can be printed through ParentVUE)

Parents/Guardians may opt into “Go Paperless” for report cards by following the below instructions:

  • Parents/Guardians can take advantage of the paperless option, by logging into ParentVUE, then going to “My Account” and selecting "Go Paperless!". This is the only way to keep a paper report card from being generated for students at the secondary level. All parents who share the same address as the student must have a SIS ParentVUE account and must select the paperless option.
