Join us on November 16th for our first Family Food Market for this school year! ATES is partnering with the Capital Area Food Bank (CAFB) to offer these monthly distributions of nutritious groceries to members of the ATES community, free of charge.
When: November 16th at 3:00 PM-4:00PM
Where: This year, Family Markets will be held outside in the front parking area with drive-up encouraged and walk-ups available.
What: The CAFB will be providing pre-packed boxes/bags of dry goods and produce. One box of each per household, please.
Help us keep Family Markets safe! Please note that masks are required for market participation, and we ask all participants to maintain social distancing by keeping 6 feet or further away from others.
Nominate your amazing teachers and staff!
FCPS have special awards program to honor outstanding teachers, leaders and staff for each school. Please nominate your amazing teachers! Once the finalist from each school is selected then these winners will go on to the pyramid level to be selected. Finally the five regions will select their region’s outstanding employee then moving onto FCPS finalist. It’s a perfect way to celebrate your special teacher to be recognized.
All you have to do is go to the link below to nominate someone. There will be 6 categories where you can nominate in the following categories: Outstanding Teacher, Outstanding New Teacher, Outstanding Principal, Outstanding Leader, Outstanding Operational Employee and Outstanding Professional Employee. You do not have to nominate someone for all the categories.
If you’re unsure which category fits the person you would like to nominate, please email Essel Linton, ATES Awards Liaison.
The nomination forms may be accessed through https://forms.gle/caJKgDXDGTZeuheT7
All nominations must be submitted by November 13, 2020
We are excited about this program and that we can recognize so many Outstanding Employees at Annandale Terrace. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact Essel Linton, awards Liaison at elinton@fcps.edu
In partnership with Food For Others we are happy to once again offer this program to our families this year. Please fill out the form below if you wish to participate.

ATES LIBRARY BOOK checkout information and instructions

 |
Use the library catalog to place a hold on books you want. Log in to the catalog properly and place a hold only on books that are listed as “IN.” Here is a video that shows you how to do this. Students: be sure your parents know you have placed holds, so they can make sure they are picked up and returned according to the schedule below.
Just before the next pickup date, you and a parent should receive an email indicating which of the books that you put on hold were checked out and available to be picked up. If you want to check this for yourself, log in to the library catalog then select “checkouts” from the main menu pull-down list (select the 3 bars icon at the top left of the catalog screen.)
Books can be returned and new ones picked up at the main entrance of the school at the following days and times:
Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 3:30-6pm and Wednesday Nov. 18 from 8am-12:30pm Be sure to place your holds by Friday, Nov. 13!
Tuesday, Dec. 1 from 3:30-6pm and Wednesday Dec. 2 from 8am-12:30pm Be sure to place your holds by Monday, Nov. 30!
Tuesday, Dec. 15 from 3:30-6pm and Wednesday Dec. 16 from 8am-12:30pm Be sure to place your holds by Friday, Dec. 11: get plenty of books to last through Winter Break!
This will take place every 2 weeks. Upcoming dates and times will be announced. Remember, holds must be placed no later than the Friday before the pickup day.
*This deadline and the holds process will be the same for students who are having instruction in the building: however, instead of picking up your books at the main entrance, they will be delivered to your classroom.
For younger students, parents are encouraged to place the holds: again, there is a tutorial video to show you how.
And there is much more you will want to explore—including many sources for ebooks, audiobooks and online read alouds--in the Library’s Reading Resources Google Site. A link to this can always be found near the top of the Library page of the ATES website and clicking the “Reading Resources” button.
