Glasgow Community:

What a beautiful November weekend this has been! My family and I hiked through Rock Creek Park and then enjoyed an evening with friends in our backyard celebrating an upcoming birthday in our family.

It was great to see so many of you on Monday night for our Return to School Town Halls. Thank you to everyone who reached out individually as well. I always appreciate connecting with families, answering questions and listening to feedback and concerns.

This week we have our second Parent Academy on Thursday night. The topic will be internet safety, and our school-based technology support Bob Nordling and school resource officer Victor Nardone will be sharing important information to our community. The event will be in English and Arabic from 6:00pm - 7:00pm and in Spanish from 7:00pm - 8:00pm. Please select your preferred language to sign up for the session and you will receive a session link on the day of the event.

As a reminder, Wednesday, November 11 will be an early release in honor of Veteran’s Day. Students will attend 2nd, 6th and 8th period. The bell schedule is pictured below.

Finally, we are conducting a toiletries drive during the month of November. Please drop any donations off to the front office, and our Communities in Schools Coordinator, Destiny Delaware will ensure that they are distributed to our families in need. See below in Important Information for more details.

I hope you have a wonderful week. Please reach out with any questions and/or concerns.

Technology Support @Glasgow - We continue to encourage all families who are having issues with your Glasgow issued laptop to call the Parent/Student Tech Support Hotline at 833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS).  The hotline is staffed 7 days a week from 7am to 11pm and multiple languages are available.  Alternatively, you can submit a support ticket online at https://itweb.fcps.edu/itsupport/.  If it is deemed that the problem cannot be fixed virtually, we will set up a time for you to come to Glasgow for a repair or exchange between the hours of 10am – 2pm, Monday through Friday.  If you show up outside of those hours or without an appointment, we cannot guarantee a tech will be able to service your laptop in a timely fashion.  Also, to keep the student laptops running well, encourage your child to “restart” the laptop at least once a week.  A restart is in the power options and is not the same as turning the laptop off, then turning it back on.  Restarts are vital in making sure the laptop receives and installs the most current updates to ensure optimal performance.

Toiletries Drive - This month we’re doing a toiletries drive! If you’d like to support this effort, please drop off any items at Glasgow from Nov 9th until Dec 1st.
