SILVERBROOK LIBRARY BOOK DISTRIBUTION DAY

SILVERBROOK BUS LOOP IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL
Your child may place up to two books on hold in the Destiny Discover Catalog. These books should be picked up in the Silverbrook bus loop on Monday, November 16 for reading at home. This is not a mandatory activity.
Kindergarten students who are returning to in-person instruction will be coming to the new Silverbrook library to check out books. Your child will not need to put books on hold.
How to put books on hold:
- Click on the Destiny Discover link: https://search.follettsoftware.com/metasearch/ui/103848
- Click on the words Log In in the upper, right corner.
- Click on the blue bar that says Fairfax County Public Schools. Do not type anything in the Follett Account.
- On the next page, your child’s school username and password should be entered.
- Your child can then search for books using the topic buttons or typing a title or keywords in the search box at the top.
- When a desired book is found, check for a green triangle with the word IN in the upper, left corner. The green triangle means that book is available to put on hold. Click the blue HOLD button. The book is put on hold for your child. It will be pulled from the shelves and ready for pick up on Nov. 16.
- If a red triangle is in the corner, the book is not available to be put on hold and your child should search for another book.
When your child is finished reading the books, please return the books to the Returned Books cart outside the front entrance of Silverbrook ES.
