Multicultural Reading Program (MRP) Back

Looking for Parent Volunteers!

multi

Some photos from last year's MRP lessons

We are excited to announce that the MRP will be held again in the spring of 2021. The culturally, linguistically responsive literacy development lessons were popular among CRS K-3 students and teachers. Each grade learned Indian, Spanish, Korean, Russian cultural values and more through reading children’s books from those countries. The program even won a Northern Virginia PTA award and was nominated for a Virginia PTA award last year.

This time it will be virtual for all CRS K-6 students because only students are allowed in the school building due to the pandemic. We are looking for parents whose home country cultures and languages are more than American/American English. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the program designer Michelle Cho, a PTA Diversity & Inclusion Committee member: michellemeeyoung@gmail.com
