A Message from Mrs. Kirkpatrick

As we move into the second quarter we are deeply embedded in planning for a safe, educational and supportive student return.

Students are scheduled to return 2 days a week as follows:
11/17 - Kindergarten

12/1 - 1st and 2nd Grade

1/4 - 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grades

A-K Tuesday/Wednesday and L-Z Thursday/Friday

*unless you were notified of a change to help balance a section
We appreciate the flexibility of those of you who have already agreed to a change days to accommodate the needs.

Each parent should have received a direct email from me last week regarding the plan for your child's grade level. Kindergarten and 1st grade will be the only grade where we are planning teacher changes to accommodate a full class that is 100% virtual. Ms. Kuduk and Mrs. Wei will be the teachers teaching 100% virtual. These changes will take place the day on which students return. If FCPS were to make a change to return, students will remain with their current teacher.  All students in grades 2nd - 6th will remain with their current teacher regardless of their decision to remain 100% virtual of return to school. This decision was made in the overall best interest of our students and match with the teacher and peers they are currently placed.

We are presently reworking the master schedule to accommodate outdoor play breaks, lunch for the school and time between specials.  All specials will begin virtual and specialists are currently paired to support teams to limit contact exposure. Paired specialists will help support a specific grade level to offer classroom teachers needed support.

We look forward to seeing our littlest chipmunks in just over a week!

With gratitude for your flexibility and support,

Stacy Kirkpatrick

Thanksgiving Appreciation Raffle for Staff

If you would like to contribute to a staff "Thanksgiving Appreciation" raffle, we will collect gift cards and donations from local businesses to raffle off. Our staff can use all the support they can during this time and entering a raffle for a lunch, coffee or amazon gift card will really brighten their day. We would like to hold our Thanksgiving Appreciation Raffle as a way to say thank you to our Chesterbrook Staff. If you would like to contribute, you may drop gift cards off to the main office with Pat Pence or mail directly to the school in the care of Pat Pence.  We will make sure all gift cards land in the hands of our lucky staff. Thank you for your support of our amazing team.

With Gratitude, Stacy & Farris
