Message from Mrs. Castillo

Costume Day

Thank you to all of you who joined us for our Town Hall this week.  We appreciated the many questions we received.  Here is the slide deck that was shared and the recording from Wednesday’s Community Town Hall. Please remember families may update their preference for returning to school by midnight tonight by using this form. Parents have found this resource helpful as they envision returning to the school building.

Thank you Ms. Nickels and our SCA for encouraging our students and staff to participate in the Spooky Spirit Week!  We saw fun and silly socks, scary hats, crazy hair, costumes, and other ways that our lions showed spirit.  If you haven’t already, be sure to take a photo of your family or child and send to PTAcommunicationsLRES@gmail.com by tomorrow to be considered for the PTA costume contest.

Finally, thank you everyone for welcoming our new School Based Technology Specialist – Ms. Argodale, she did a fabulous job this week getting to know our students and staff.  Have a fun and relaxing weekend ~ Mrs. Castillo

Positivity Project - Perspective

Perspective

This has been a really fun week filled with creativity!  Next week, we will learn about perspective.  Perspective means that you appreciate when people see things in different ways. You have the ability to understand the world from multiple points of view. Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct from intelligence. People with this strength are sought out for advice because they see the big picture and can make sense of the world’s complexity. This strength of perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Most importantly, they are honest and behave in an ethically consistent manner. Perspective is usually gained over time, as one accumulates more knowledge and experiences. However, developing perspective is not only a matter of time. It comes from truly listening to others when they talk and working to understand new points of view when reading books, listening to stories, or watching movies.
